A SUPER ARRAY OF WILLIAMS SELYEM WINES INCLUDING A LARGE SELECTION IN VERY RARE MAGNUM FORMAT

Established in 1981, the dynamic duo of Burt Williams and Ed Selyem actually released a Zinfandel as their first wine. A year later they turned their focus to Pinot Noir and the rest they say is history.

It was the close relationships with many of Sonoma's best Pinot Noir growers that enabled Williams Selyem access to the best fruit from the best vineyards.

By the late 1980's both had left their respective professions to pursue wine fulltime. Always a small concern production has risen to almost 7,000 cases a year, with some of the single vineyard bottlings only producing 150 -200 cases. This is wine production on a personal level and the wines are usually only available through their mailing list.

In 1997 the winery was sold off to an investor, so what is on offer here are the wines from the golden period between the late 1980's and mid to late 1990's. Rare wines by any account and rarely do we see them at auction, rarer still is the selection offered in magnum format and the small selection of their micro-production Chardonnays.

There can be no question that these are some of the finest expressions of Pinot Noir, New or Old World. My first experience of these wines was a 1992 Olivet Lane Pinot Noir and I couldn't believe there were people other than Burgundy's finest growers making wines like these.

Property of a Gentleman

All wines have been stored in ideal temperature and humidity controlled conditions. Suffice to say that these bottles are all in superb condition.
