PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY MILLAY TO PORTER HARTNELL ADAMS on the limitation page: "For Porter Hartnell Adams Edna St. Vincent Millay." Millay published Renascence the year she graduated from Vassar. She won the Pulitzer Prize in 1923. Although the limitation notice states that 15 copies were printed on Japan vellum, 17 were actually printed. A very good copy of one of the great first-book rarities of modern American literature.
