François Rübestück, maître in 1766.

Established first in rue de la Roquette, François Rübestück subsequently moved to rue de Charenton. Producing mainly japanned commodes and secretaires abattant, for which he was famous though he excelled as well with floral marquetry. The use of musical trophies and the interlaced rosette decoration to the frieze is typical of his oevre and is evident on an encoignure by Rübestück illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIe Siècle, Paris, 1989, p. 748, ill. F.
