A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD TABLE A ECRIRE
Circa 1775
The oval white marble top with pierced three-quarter gallery, above a guilloche-cast panelled frieze-drawer fitted with a hinged gilt-tooled green-leather writing-surface, inkwell and sander, on patera and guttae-headed tapering square legs joined by a kidney-shaped undertier, with ormolu caps

Lot Essay
A virtually identical table, but lacking the triglyphs and with slightly differing feet, was sold anonymously in these Rooms, 21 April 1979, lot 54.
