A brass and cast iron fire-grate, circa 1900
In the Robert Adam taste, the impressed paterae and scroll decorated flanges with applied label stamped 1738 to the reverse, repeated on the side and back, the fire brick stamped indistinctly, the pierced serpentine frieze with ash tray beneath railed grate -- 28¼in. (71.8cm.) high overall; 28¼in. (71.8cm.) wide overall; 16in. (40.7cm.) deep
