The overmantel framed by bracketed corners filled with acanthus scrolls and edged acanthus-tipped molding, the chimney shelf with egg-and-dart molding above the frieze carved with a female mask flanked by drapery swags and acanthus-carved console brackets above panelled jambs, with a later varigated gray marble inner slip not illustrated, overall flanked by plain pilasters
