A FINE GEORGE III SILVER SOUP TUREEN AND COVER ON STAND
Mark of John Parker and Edward Wakelin, 1761, the stand 1773
Oval on four scroll and foliage feet, with guilloche border, each side applied with a rococo cartouche within leaf sprays, with two leafy bracket handles, the cover flat-chased with a running scroll border and surmounted by a leaf-clad bud finial, the conforming stand with two leafy handles and husk border, flat-chased with running scroll border, applied with similar rococo cartouches, the tureen and stand engraved on each side with a coat-of-arms, marked under base, on cover bezel, and under stand, also with inventory numbers 13, 14 and 15, and scratchweights No. 1 147=17 and 99=12
