A patchwork jamawar rumal shawl, woven in shades of red, green and blue, the cruciform field of black wool invaded by four ogival cartouches, each enclosing an iris-like palmette, flanked by scrolling palm-tipped vines, the borders with further arabesques, two edges trimmed with embroidered harlequin borders, Kashmir, 19th century--72in. x 68in.
