Lot Essay

Owned by T. Dunlop & Sons and built by Alexander Stephen & Sons at Linthouse (Glasgow), Queen Elizabeth was registered at 2,507 tons and measured 300 feet in length with a 40 foot beam. After a very short service life, she was wrecked at Ikisimu on 22nd March 1891 whilst on passage from Japan to Manilla carrying a cargo of coal.
