Late 19th century, blue crossed swords mark, signed L.S. for Ludwig Stern
Finely painted after Angelika Kaufmann, with an oval reserve of a fair haired maiden in a pastoral landscape, a flute at her side and a spaniel at her feet
12¾ x 10½in. (32.4 x 26.7cm.), within a wood frame

Lot Essay

Ludwig Sturm was the Director of painters at the Royal Factory in the Mid 19th century.
