Lot Essay

This music sheet cover portrays the many errand girls who peopled the streets of Paris and who were regarded as fair game by the boulevardiers. Here Le petit trottin returns the glance of a dandy, perhaps ready to make an assignation. It has been suggested that Maurice Guibert, a friend of Lautrec's, was the model for the male figure.
