After the comparative failure of the model 6202 Turnograph, Rolex re-introduced the rotating bezel on a Datejust, resulting in the model 6309 which proved to be so popular that the rotating bezel Datejust has been available ever since. The rotating bezel is known in Europe as the Turn-O-Graph bezel whereas in the US, it is known as the Thunderbird bezel.
