A LARGE UNDERGLAZE BLUE, RED AND WHITE GLOBULAR VASE
Underglaze blue Jiaqing (1796-1820) seal mark, 19th Century
Painted all around the body with two large Buddhistic lions holding brocade balls, one with a comical face accompanied by two small cubs, the beasts primarily in underglaze blue but with faces and backbones picked out in stippled pale copper-red, all amongst scattered blue cloud scrolls and copper-red fire-scrolls outlined in blue, rim fritted
