A Villeroy and Boch part pottery bedroom set
Circa 1900, green printed marks
Printed in shades of pink and puce with spread eagles with Prussian Royal crown above within shaped cartouches flanked by berried laurel branches and palms and elaborate interlaced WR monograms for Emperor Wilhelm II beneath shaped scroll-edged trellis-pattern panels, comprising:
A slop-bucket and liner with cane bail handle (crack to liner)
A large basin
A small basin
A jug
Two chamberpots
A bordaloue
Two toothbrush holders
A soapdish and two pierced liners
A small bowl and cover (cover repaired) (12)

Lot Essay

An almost identical large bowl, jug, soap-dish and small bowl and cover, still in the possession of the family at Huis Doorn, were exhibited at the Deutches Historisches Museum, Berlin and are illustrated in Der Letzte Kaiser Wilhelm II Im Exil, exhibition catalogue, Munich, 1991, p. 182, no. 54.
