An ivory netsuke of a standing man
19th Century
carved wearing a hat and long coat decorated with waves and inlaid buttons, holding a ritual tablet in one hand and a basket of flowers in the other -- 2¾in. (7cm.) high; and an ivory netsuke of a group of rats clambering over one another on mushrooms, inlaid eyes, signed Meizan to the underside -- 2in. (5cm.) wide, (losses to inset eyes on rats).
