A Seiji [Celadon] Dish
With curved sides and flattish rim, the sides modelled with twenty-eight petals, the centre of the dish with two fish in the manner of Chinese Song-dynasty celadon, covered in a pale blue-green glaze, the base with an impressed mark, with signed fitted wood box
7 7/8in. (20.0cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

Tsukamoto Kaiji a prizewinner at several national and international exhibitions, was named Holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Asset (Living National Treasure) in 1984 in recognition of his achievements in the field of seiji [celadon] ware.
