Lot Essay

Lear journeyed to Corfu in 1848 to visit Bowen, President of the University of Corfu. However on arrival he found that Bowen had left to visit the other Ionian islands. Lear decided to follow him and spent the next two weeks exploring Zante and Cephalonia.
