Each with waved toprail, the padded back and serpentine seat covered in 18th century gros and petit point needlework (associated and possibly French) depicting peasants playing and music-making in cartouches, surrounded by foliage, the seats with conforming cartouches depicting scenes from the Fables de Fontaine, the part-padded outcurved arms with scrolled terminals on foliage and strapwork-carved downswept supports, on blind fretwork-carved legs and leather castors, one re-railed, the other with later framework, with slight variation to the profile of arms, the front rails possibly originally straight (2)

The mythological love scenes, displayed in ribbon-framed cartouches, may be inspired by Homer's Iliad or History of Troy, and include Cupid attending the courtship of the Trojan prince Paris and Helen.
