A GERMAN ROCOCO JEWELLED AND HARDSTONE-SET MOTHER-OF-PEARL AND GOLD NÉCESSAIRE

Tapering étui of shield-shaped section, applied with mother-of-pearl panels encrusted with piqué point and piqué posé scrolled foliage and trelliswork in gold, with birds and beasts and a trophy of arms, set with foiled rubies and diamonds and with lapis-lazuli plaques, foiled rose-cut diamond pushpiece, plain gold base, the interior fitted with two-leaved tablets held by a gold rivet, steel tweezers with incorporated ear spoon, a reeded gold pencil-holder, a gold ear-spoon, a gold folding ruler, a pair of steel scissors with folding gold handles, a pair of steel dividers with gold handle, two octagonal tapering gold handles with detachable caps to fit one into the other, with two steel instruments to screw on: a knife blade and a two-pronged fork
