A SWISS ENAMELLED GOLD BONBONNIÈRE SET WITH AN ENAMEL PLAQUE
Geneva, circa 1780/1800, with prestige marks, the flange struck with inventory number 1097
Large circular box, the independent cover and base engine-turned with concentric reeding enamelled in translucent light green, the sides engine-turned with horizontal reeding and enamelled in translucent light green interspersed with gold-bordered red ovolos, the cover centred by an oval enamel plaque painted with a two girls in classical attire adorning a statue of Cupid with a garland of flowers, on a pink opalescent ground, within a frame of white opalescent enamel beads on a sablé band within bright-cut borders, the outer sablé gold borders similarly enamelled with white opalescent enamel beads and translucent green foliage
