With Beta-21 quartz movement, the gilt brushed dial with applied gold baton numerals, magnified date aperture, sweep center seconds, the heavy tonneau-shaped case with fluted bezel, the back secured by a friction locking system, together with a heavy 18K gold Rolex brick link bracelet and deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

The Beta-21 movement is one of the first quartz movements to go into production. At the 1970 Basel Fair, several companies including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Omega, Jaeger-LeCoultre and IWC exhibited wristwatches with the new groundbreaking technology.
