A late 18th/early 19th-Century four-legged mahogany globe table stand,
unsigned, probably English, for a 9-inch (22.8cm.) diameter globe, with no horizon paper, the edge of the horizon painted red, raised on four elegant baluster turned legs with inverted tulip section and inverted truncated pyramid feet, united by baluster turned cross stretchers to the central platform for the (missing) meridian support (four later screw holes in the horizon) -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) high
