A 19th-Century lacquered-brass compound monocular botanist's microscope,
signed by HORNE, THORNTHWAITE & WOOD 123 & 121, Newgate Street LONDON, the barrel with micrometer fine focusing adjustment, held on a limb from the pillar with stage with aperture disc moved via rack and pinion, and substage concave mirror, tilting on a compass joint to the circular brass bass fixed into the fitted and green plush-lined mahogany carrying case, the whole dissassembling for storage within the case, with live box, one objective and adjustment key, the case -- 8¼in. (21cm.) wide; together with a mahogany slide case, with three trays containing a good number of amateur preparations and various slide-making accessories and hand-written notes, including four microphotogrpahic slides: Hungerford Bridge by J.C.S(teward), The Lord's Prayer and "Eminent Men" by A(ndrew) R(oss), and A Bank-Note by J.L.C., the case -- 11¼in. (28.5cm.) wide

An initial transfer and administration charge of £3.20 (Paintings) or £18.50 (Furniture/Objects) and a storage charge of £1.60 (Paintings) or £ 3.20 (Furniture/Objects) per lot per day will be payable to Cadogan Tate. These charges are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge. Exceptionally large pictures will be subject to a surcharge.
