A finely engineered 1½in. scale model of the Allchin single cylinder two speed General Purpose Traction Engine 'Royal Chester'
with brazed copper boiler with fittings including water gauge with glass protector, pressure gauge, safety, blower, water lift, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinder approximately 1in. bore x 1½in. stroke, draincocks and pipes, displacement and mechanical lubricators, trunk type crosshead guide, Stephenson's link reverse, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, two road speeds and spoked flywheel (loose, governor missing). Chassis details include spoked straked wheels, worm and roller chain steering, spud pan, damper, cable drum, fairleads, water lift and suction pipe, band brake to second shaft, wooden footboard with tool box under and other details, finished in maroon and green with black and yellow lining -- 16½ x 26in. An initial transfer and administration charge of £3.20 (Paintings) or £18.50 (Furniture/Objects) and a storage charge of £1.60 (Paintings) or £ 3.20 (Furniture/Objects) per lot per day will be payable to Cadogan Tate. These charges are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge. Exceptionally large pictures will be subject to a surcharge.
