A large Vienna-style dark-blue-ground oviform vase and stand
Circa 1890, blue shield mark
The vase painted by F. Dörfl with Arcadian scenes titled VOR DEM BADE and FESTVORSTELLUNG, with scantilly-draped ladies and attendants before a fountain in a lavish interior, the reverse with ladies in flowing robes and attendants preparing for a celebration on a terrace before a seascape, both signed and numbered between seeded gilt bands and raised gilt scrolling leaf-shaped panels, the neck and foot with similar ornament, the spreading base painted by F. Hiebel with figures of females and putti titled HULDIGUNG and KUNSTGENOSSEN, within beaded oval cartouches issuing raised gilt scrolls (light rubbing to gilding)
