A COMPOSITE BROADSWORD, AND AND ALL-STEEL DAGGER (MISERICORD)
17th Century, and 16th Century
The first with tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, the hilt in the form of that of a left-hand dagger, comprising slender arched quillons of stiff diamond section (repaired) with bud finials, fluted pommel, and wire-bound grip; the second with tapering blade of stiff diamond section with two holes and two projections at its base, chiselled baluster grip with pierced central feature of square section, and domed disc pommel engraved with radiating lines (scattered pitting on both pieces)
