Of Enfield P/61 type, with rebrowned twist sighted six-groove barrel octagonal at the breech, bayonet lug on the right side of the muzzle, adjustable back-sight calibrated to 1000 yards, patent breech, signed border engraved lock-plate and hammer decorated with scrollwork, snap cap and chain, walnut three-quarter stock with chequered grip and fore-end, screw-held barrel bands, engraved iron mounts, silver escutcheon, and original iron ramrod, Birmingham provisional and definitive proof marks
