THE PROPERTY OF SVEN VON HEDEMANN-HEESPEN, HERRENHAUS DEUTCH-NIENHOF (LOTS 65-66) The estate Deutsch-Nienhof is located in the country of Schleswig-Holstein, south of the Westensee and in the city triangle of Rendsburg, Neumünster and Kiel. Less than 60 miles north of Hamburg, this estate is the centre and origin of the nature reserve of Westensee. The hall, a three-wing building evokes a modern impression, but its construction dates back to 1501, when Tönnis Rantzau laid the first stone. The estate of Nyehove is first recorded in 1472 when it was in the possession of Hinrich von Ahlefelds. Beginning with the castle of the estate by Gosche Rantzau in 1630, it changed hands many times, until Christian Friedrich von Heespen became the new owner in 1743. After his death in 1776 the estate devolved to Christian Friedrich von Hedemann, von Heespen's nephew. In memory of von Heespen, the Hedemann family created the double-barrelled name of Hedemann-Heespen. Under the watchful eye of the royal Hanoverian head gardener Schauenburg, Christian Friedrich von Hedemann-Heespen created with vision and artistic flair an elobarate English park (1837), growing exotic trees and installing numerous ponds. In the later half of the 19th Century Friedrich von Hedemann-Heespen had the economic vision to bring order and profitability to the various aspects of the estate, allowing it to prosper well in the 20th Century. At the turn of the last century his son Paul von Hedemann-Heespen, a renowned scholar of history, redesigned the interior of the main hall to create a new library and to install the archive of Gensch von Breitenau. The current owner is Sven von Hedemann-Heespen.

Comprising: a coffee pot, a teapot and a milkjug, each on circular base inscribed E.J, with stylised acanthus leaves border with beaded rim above, short plain stem, shaped oval plain body with a shells and swans decorated upper band, high shaped wooden handle, shaped twisted spout clad with mask and foliage, cover with everted stylised acanthus leaves rim and swan finial, milk jug with gild interior, marked on base
