A FAILED EXPERIMENT: 'The experiment, on which I had laid such value, demonstrates nothing for and nothing against the wave theory (Undulationstheorie) so all my great efforts were in vain'. Einstein is still looking for a sailing boat: it needs to be a very steady one, 'so that my precious life isn't put in danger'. He asks Hans Albert to make an enquiry at the Zurich cantonal bank.
