EINSTEIN, Albert. Autograph letter signed ('Papa') to his son Hans Albert, n.p. [Princeton], n.d. [1949], in German, half page, 4to; envelope. Provenance: Einstein family, and by descent.
EINSTEIN ON FREUD AND THE OEDIPUS COMPLEX. He is much pleased by his grandson Bernhard ('Hadi'), though he found him depressed and intimidated, owing to his feelings towards his father, under whose superiority he suffers. This will improve, once he sets up on his own: 'Freud at least got something right with his Oedipus complex, even if he did possibly exaggerate it a lot'. A friend has been to Zurich to see Mileva, but he fears that he will not live to see the resolution of the situation.
