A brass box adorned with a bas-relief image of an Academy Award Oscar statuette above an inscription reading To Ronald Colman/With The Affection and Esteem/Of His Fellow Actors/The Masquers/First Annual "Dinner to the Winner"/April 28, 1948. An inaugural dinner was arranged by The Masquers (Colman was a member of this actor's club) to celebrate Academy Award winners and he and Edmund Gwenn (who won a 'Best Supporting Actor' Oscar for "Miracle on 34th Street" the same year) were the first to be honored. Colman's own program from the event is included as are his newspaper clippings which outline a bawdy, roast-style function attended by a males-only 'A' list of Hollywood personalities from that era.
