The rectangular marble top with rounded corners and molded edge above a conforming frame with ornately shaped skirt of cyma curves and arches, on cabriole legs and pad feet, marble top original with repaired break

Lot Essay

A very similar Massachusetts marble top, or "slab" table is in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. See Randall, Jr., American Furniture in the Museum of Fine Arts Boston (Boston, 1965), cat. no. 82. Another example with a similar scalloped skirt was sold in these rooms, June 2, 1983, lot 351.
