The sides well-painted with the continuous scene of an English hunting party, the pack of hounds at their feet, two riders dismounted examining a horse's foreleg, and another two approaching at a gallop in the distance, all beneath a blue diaper border, repeated around the foot and in a wider form in the interior above a large pheasant hunt vignette
