Of club size, one rook and one knight of each side with impressed red crown mark, the white king inscribed JAQUES LONDON
The kings -- 4 3/8in. (11.2cm.), the pawns -- 2in. (5.2cm.) high
With a Victorian mahogany box, probably associated, bearing a label inscribed THE STAUNTON CHESSMEN. TWO PRIZE MEDALS AWARDED 1862, JAQUES AND SON, LONDON
