CHIANTI FROM THE CELLARS OF CASTELLO DI MONSANTO
This Estate is one of the key producers of the Chianti Classico region.
They produce deep-coloured, full-bodied wines with plenty of character.
The vineyard area is 5.5 hectares and the varieties, Sangiovese (90,
Canaiolo (7 and Colorino (3 make up the blend. The cru 'Il Poggio' was created in 1962 and the winery has recently been celebrating it's 40th anniversary with a series of international tastings at the winery. The large formats here are only produced in small quantities and rarely released for commercial sale.
