A FRENCH SILVER-PLATED CENTERPIECE,
Mark of Christofle, Paris, late 19th Century,
the oval base raised on four scrolling feet, with two mermaids blowing conch shells at each end, each side with blank cartouche supported by sea creatures and rushes, the body with two shell-form bowls centering a raised two handle bowl on fluted foot, each side applied with a mask of Poseidon crowned by rushes and a shell, marked underside.
