A Meissen group of two putti
Circa 1745, blue crossed swords mark and Pressnummer 6
Both putti scantily clad in flowered robes, one leaning against a large terrestial globe with his elbow, gazing upwards through a telescope, a large book with gilt-edged pages and a telescope at his feet, the other seated nearby and leaning over the globe holding a pair of gilt dividers, a gilt protractor at his feet, on a shaped oval rocaille-moulded mound base enriched with gilding and applied with flowers and foliage (left putti with restoration to right arm, telescope and robe, right putti with restoration to torso and arms, slight wear to gilding)
