The rectangular shelf on two pairs of Doric columns at each side, around a moulded aperture, on pedestal bases

Lot Essay

The chimneypiece, with its paired and plinth-supported Doric columns is designed in the robust early 19th century antique manner popularised by publications such as Thomas Hope's Household Furniture and Interior Decoration, 1807.
