The scantily clad figure cloudborne, holding drapery aloft, on a circular dome, inscribed to the side H. Daillion, on an octagonal base, fronted by a plaque inscribed Aurore, par H.Daillion, Salon des Beaux-Arts, Hors Concours, on an associated ormolu-mounted circular onyx pedestal
The bronze: 30¾ in. (78 cm.) high;

Lot Essay
Horace Daillion (1854-1938) studied under Dumont and Aimé Millet. He began exhibiting at the Salon in 1876. He won the Prix du Salon in 1885 and gold medals at the Expositions of 1889 and 1900.
