A Flemish historical tapestry, woven with two Roman soldiers in battle, one brandishing a sword above the other who lies at his feet with dagger raised, the background with further soldiers and a king on horseback within a wooded landscape, with a classical building beyond, joined to borders woven with a fruiting and flowering vine, the borders signed with the Oudenarde shield and pince-nez mark and with the weaver's mark, late 16th/early 17th century (reduced, wear and repairs, borders replaced)--104¾ x 88in.
