Lot Essay

Per Nordquist was a pupil of Elias Martin in Stockholm and of Regnault in Paris. The composition appears to come from a Sandby print which he could have seen with Martin who was a contemporary of Sandby's, and worked in England. He died in November 1805 in Naples.
