A FINE COLLECTION OF CARICATURES, the majority by William Heath, all superbly coloured by a contemporary hand. Heath, who often worked under the psuedonym "Paul Pry", began his career as a draughtsman. His main claim to fame, however, was as a consummate caricaturist. He went on to create the first caricature magazine in Europe, The Glasgow, later Northern Looking-Glass, between 1825-26 but he also produced topographical and straight illustration, most notably for James Jenkins's The Martial Achievements (London, 1815). Sold as a collection of plates, not subject to return.
