The rectangular case flanked by two amorini, one blowing a gilt-metal pipe toward the circular dial aperture as if to a bubble, the other with pursed lips and also blowing, modelled with quivers to the front angles, the front with a floral swag beneath the inscription LUDIMUS ET SIMILIS BULLAE VACUA EFFUGIT HORA, the green marble base with ormolu side mounts of butterflies within serpent frames and front mount of a cherub on a swag, the front resting on foliate capped stylised acorn feet and the rear on plain acorn feet, with circular aperture for two revolving white enamel Arabic chapter rings, the minutes marked at two minute intervals, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell
