The case with stepped flat top hood with spiral twist columns, the frieze painted with flowers, conforming decoration to the long rectangular trunk door with moulded frame and with central lenticle, on stepped and panneled plinth, the 11in. square brass dial with cherub mask-and-foliate spandrels to the silvered Roman chapter ring with elaborate sword hilt half hour markers and signed JNO: Holloway Stroud, the four ringed pillar movement with outside countwheel strike on bell and anchor escapement
