With part ebonised stepped pediment, brass adjustment knob to the bowfront trunk, the cistern cover with ebony inlaid mock fluting to the chamfered sides and applied with a carved pinecone mount, the silvered register plate engraved with Cyrillic inscriptions (BAROMETER above A.Trindin Moscow), the weather readings also in Cyrillic, Vernier scale, the trunk with conforming silvered scale for mercury thermometer
