The small box set on four bracket feet and decorated with birds and flowers in gold, silver and red togidashi with kirigane and hirame highlights on a roiro ground, the bevelled edges and risers between layers covered with hirame on a black-lacquer ground, the underside of the cover lacquered with butterflies in gold, brown and red hiramaki-e, the interiors sparse nashiji on a roiro ground, edges fundame
