Lot Essay

The subject of the above painting is the 1926 3rd round F.A.Cup tie between Corinthians and Manchester City, played at The Crystal Palace, the match ending in a 3-3 draw. The replay was held at Maine Road a week later, with Manchester City defeating Corinthians 4-1. Manchester City reach the final of this season competition, losing 1-0 to Bolton Wanderers
