The fluted rosette and leaf-carved finial above a waisted hood with stiff-leaf carved edge and a brass-rimmed glazed door enclosing a circular silvered dial with Roman and Arabic chapter-ring and a seconds dial, the two chain movement with anchor escapement, striking the hour on a bell, the case in the form of an Ionic capped tapering pedestal with a fluted frieze, hinged door and inset angles on a stepped and fluted plinth base
