Circular, on circular fluted foot with stiff-leaf border, the lower body with acanthus calyx and fluting, the upper body applied with a grape-leaf border, with entwined vine and leaf-clad handles, the domed cover with vine border and oak-leaf and acorn branch handle, engraved twice with two crests and mottoes, fully marked, also stamped RUNDELL BRIDGE ET RUNDELL AURIFICES REGIS LONDINI

Lot Essay

A pair of soup tureens and covers and one sauce boat of the same maker and date and engraved with the same crests and mottoes were sold by Christie's, London, May 18, 1988, lots 134-35.
