Circular, with upswept scroll and ivory handles and gadrooned rim, the body with removable tri-part insert, the domed cover with leaf-clad reeded handle, the body engraved with a coat-of-arms, the cover with a crest, marked on body, cover and tri-part insert

The arms are those of Edgcumbe with Hobart in pretence, as borne by Richard, 2nd Earl of Mount Edgcumbe (1764-1839). He married Sophia, 3rd daughter and co-heir of John (Hobart), 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire, in 1789.
